NEW SOFTWARE BRINGS COLOR TO MILLIONS OF COLOR BLIND USERS;
HELPS ANYONE WORK MORE EFFICIENTLY WITH WEBSITES, DOCUMENTS, GRAPHICS AND COMPUTER APPLICATIONS 

BOSTON – March 13, 2006 – One in 12 men is color blind and in a typical classroom of 25 students, at least one is color blind.  Color blindness, a term commonly used to describe the partial or complete inability to distinguish between certain colors, affects more than 35 million people in America, Canada and Western Europe.

Color is often used on computer displays to present, layer and explain information.  There are guidelines for choosing safe colors, but they are rarely followed, especially on the Web where more and more information and study materials are found.

• Name: Flashes as white or black all instances of a color when the name of that color—red, green, orange, etc.—is clicked in a list.  Also identifies the name of a color when it is clicked on.

• Hue: Changes the colors in an entire graphic by cycling through a set of substitutions, allowing the user to find a setting where the color information is easier to differentiate.

Within every tool, a pop-up magnifier is available to aid in selecting colors or examining the results.  The transformed images can also be clipped, saved for use in other applications or printed from within eyePilot.
